our club needs volunteers!

We need your help!

Rockingham Raptors Teeball Association is run by a committee of parent volunteers, in numerous roles.


Every team needs a Parent Volunteer Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, Scorer and Umpire. 


If you would like to get involved this summer, please put your hand up. Players love it when their parents are part of our club too. 


Training and support is provided for all volunteer roles. 


Please email secretary@rockinghamraptors.com.au if you would like to put your hand up for a role. 

Role of the Coach

  • Preparing drills for training each week and teaching the players new skills and how the game   works 
  • Organising positions on the field and batting order for game day
  • Ensuring that everything runs smoothly on game day and each parent volunteer is filling a role   below 

Role of the Assistant Coach

  •  Assist the Coach with training each week and on game days 
  • Liaising with Team Manager on the team lists each week  
  • If the Coach is unable to make it to training or game day you will be required to take on this role  

Role of the Team Manager

  •  Communication; training, game times and locations each week, club information and events   
  • Team organisation on game day; getting the kids into their batting order, organising their   fielding positions and liaising with Coaches   

Role of the Scorer

  •  Communication; training, game times and locations each week, club information and events   
  • Team organisation on game day; getting the kids into their batting order, organising their   fielding positions and liaising with Coaches   

Role of the Umpire

  • Plate umpire - The Plate Umpire stands at home plate and runs the game with the assistance of the Base umpire  
  • Base umpire - This person positions themselves between 1st and 2nd base and their role is to assist the Plate umpire in calling safe or out at 1st and 2nd base. It is the responsibility of the home team to provide a parent volunteer as the base umpire (home team is listed first on the fixtures) 

Role of the Base Coach

  •  1st Base Coach - When your team is batting the 1st Base Coach stands in the Coaches box beside 1st Base and assists the runners by guiding them to run to 2nd Base if they can or assisting them when a fly ball is hit  
  • 3rd Base Coach - When your team is batting the 3rd Base Coach stands in the Coaches box beside 3rd Base and assists the runners by guiding them to run from 2nd to 3rd Base and to home base if able.
